About Puppywolf

Puppywolf was founded in 2010 with a simple mission: to publish the very best poetry originating in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Few British cities have such a vibrant poetry scene as Manchester, or full of such positive energy. There’s an event every day of the week for Mancunian poetry and spoken-word lovers. This is yet more proof that Manchester is fast becoming the creative capital of the country, and Puppywolf is proud to be part of this.

Puppywolf is an entirely independent company run by Keir Thomas, a poet, award-winning author and literary editor. You can click here to learn more about him.

Puppywolf’s inaugural publication is Best of Manchester Poets, and the first volume went on sale in  June 2010. Click the Shop link above to purchase a copy! Best of Manchester Poets is published yearly and contributions are invited from anybody who defines themselves as a Manchester poet. It is overseen by a panel of poet editors.

Its second publication, due in September 2010, will be the first anthology by award-winning writer Cathy Bryant, recently described as “a poet of great warmth and humour, whose poetry often looks at the everyday from a wry perspective, but still manages to retain a sense of wonder, beauty and the magical“.

In the near future Puppywolf will be publishing collections from even more of the best Manchester poets. Watch this space!
